“You may not be able to control someone’s negative behaviour, but you can control how long you participate in it”

This quote hit me very hard when I read it for the first time. How true is this!

How often we think that whatever others are saying to us, about us, is our reality. We easily believe others opinion about us and never think whether it’s true or not, are we really the person they think we are or our reality is different.

We easily believe our inner demons who show up in the form of self doubt, fear, perfectionism, etc that we feel it’s not the right time, we are not ready yet, we need to master that skill. How many of you agree to this and have been in this dilemma before.

There are 3 kinds of dream stealers who make us believe that we are not good enough, we can’t do it, we are not meant to be doing what we want to do, we are not educated enough to be doing what we want to do, we should be doing this not that and so on.

So let’s see which are these 3 -

People who demotivate us — People who demotivate us brings a lot of drama into our lives. The unwanted and unnecessary vibes which puts us off and our energy down. These kind of people makes us believe that our dreams are too big and high to achieve and we are not cut out to dream so big. They come from the place where they themselves have no big goals to fulfil and when you set out on a mission they try to make you believe that you are setting high expectations.

How to fix this — Let you be in your highest energy and vibration. Remember no one can take away from you the life you deserve if you keep working towards the life you dream of by just being YOURSELF. Be aware of the people who you hang around with, they shape up and define who you are as a person.

Negative self talk — The number one dream stealer is within us in our subconscious mind. The little voices in our head that never stops talking. Our thoughts becomes our reality. The belief that I can’t do this, I will fail, I am not capable, and so on actually is stopping you from what you are meant to do. Fear of failure is the biggest fear anyone has, but we forget to believe that it’s our own little voice in our head making us believe all this.

How to fix this — The minute the little voices start their chatter divert your thoughts to what you are doing at the very moment. The only way to stop this chatter is to replace the negative statement with the positive one. For eg- I am not ready yet, let me perfect it is a negative statement we tell ourselves, replace it with the positive one — Let me start, I will make it right on the go. See how your energy shifts from low self esteem to high self confidence,

Resistance — Resistance cannot be seen, heard, touched or smelled. It’s fuelled by fear and it shove us away, distract us, the minute we set out on doing something important. Procrastination is the best example of how we resist doing what is important for us to do right now. Have you ever noticed, we never tell ourselves something like this — I am never going to start working out, instead we say I want to work out but I will start tomorrow. This is how we procrastinate by delaying the work when our resistance is stopping us from doing what needs to be done right away.

How to fix this — Accept it. Accept that whenever you are planning to do your work it may be anything, going on a diet, working out, making videos, writing a book, anything that is important for your growth, resistance is going to show up in the form of fear, self doubt, procrastination, learn to make peace with it. Be aware of what your resistance is telling you and what will happen if you don’t listen to it. Ask yourself intriguing questions, remember your why. Get an accountability partner who can motivate you and push you through when you are retreating yourself or stopping yourself from getting the work done.

Do not let negative thoughts, negative people, negative surroundings, negative energy, negative feedback let your happiness and achievements go for vein. Just cut them off from your mind, your life, your environment, your thoughts.
