Self confidence refers to your belief system, trust, your appearance, your skills and abilities you can count on. To look, feel and act confidently, you need to think, believe and behave that way. You can look confident in any situation if you constantly train your sub conscious mind that you can do it and you have that in you.

Confidence comes naturally to those who believe in themselves and their abilities. Confidence is a state of mind. Believe, trust and act like you are the most confident person in the room. Don’t listen to the negative inner dialogue. Stop your negative inner voice from doubting your skillsets, shaming your body image. Stop imagining what others are thinking about you, stop seeking others approval instead win them with your actions and behaviour.

So how can one be sure to not come across as a person who lacks confidence and struggles in creating the impact on others. What skills one must learn to become a confident individual. Yes confidence can be learnt with little efforts and practice as its a skill and not an inborn talent. No one is born confident, confidence is something you develop as you go through life and situations.

Practice Power Pose

Practicing power pose for 2 minutes in front of a mirror daily will help you believe in yourself, make you look confident and feel good about yourself. Power poses helps increase in the hormone called Testosterone which leads to increased feelings of confidence and lowers the level of hormone called Cortisol which leads to decreased anxiety and improved ability to deal with stress.

Dress Impeccably

Make this your mantra. When you dress impeccably as per your role and goal it shows that you value yourself and also the occasion. Dressing well helps you feel good about yourself which in turn boosts your confidence, people will take you more seriously and believe in you and what you say. The clothes you wear affects your moods and feelings. To feel and look confident you need to wear clothes that reflects your personal style and elevates your mood.

Practice affirmations

Practicing affirmations will help building trust in your abilities. Constantly repeating positive thoughts to yourself will help you building your self confidence. Affirmations work because it has ability to programme your mind into believing the stated concept. If you keep doubting yourself, if you tell yourself that you can’t do this or that then it will be difficult for you to feel confident. Make it a habit to trust yourself, to believe in your abilities, to stop thinking about what others think about you.

Smile

Oh yes! Nothing could be as positive as a smile. Smile is the worlds most powerful gesture. A genuine smile is when we smile from our eyes. Smiling reduces the stress our body and mind feel and it generates positive emotions. No one likes to see a gloomy face or meet a boring person. Your one smile can enlighten and change the aura of the room.

Mind your body language

Even before you open your mouth your body language has revealed the level of confidence you possess. Your posture, gestures, eye contact, facial expressions, speak volumes about how confident you are, be mindful. 83% of what we communicate is through our body language, appearance and grooming, make sure your clothes are well maintained, neat and well ironed, your grooming is on point and you master the art of non verbal communication as that will take your confidence to the next level.

Visualise

Lastly visualise you being the most confident person in the room. Visualisation is a powerful tool. Close your eyes and believe that you are the most confident person around, allow that feeling to sink in and process through your mind. If you see it and believe it in your mind you become and behave that way. Never under estimate the power of visualisation it can change the way you think about yourself, trust me.
